Volunteer Highlight: Mission University Pines at The Food Bank of CENC
For Quarter 3, the team at Mission University Pines went to The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina (CENC).
The Food Bank of CENC has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for over 35 years. Their focus is on providing the healthiest food possible, with nearly 60% of their distribution being perishable items like fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins and dairy. In the fiscal year of 2017-2018, The Food Bank has distributed 68.3 million pounds of food to working families, individuals, children and seniors in the service area.
The team from Mission University Pines assisted in organizing and packaging various foods for delivery to those in need.
Great job Mission University Pines and thank you to The Food Bank for all of their hard work!
