Mission Eagle Pointe Serves Seniors With Meals On Wheels
Our Mission Eagle Pointe team recently volunteered for Meals on Wheels, working in the kitchen doing food prep for up-coming lunch/dinner delivery.
The goal of our organization is to assist area seniors in remaining independent in their homes, to promote socialization, and to prevent premature institutionalization. Our organization relies on donations and volunteers to serve the seniors of Collin County. They are in desperate need of help year round in order to serve over 4,000 People in Collin County. We were so excited we could help, they were very thankful we came to work with them.
Collin County seniors may be eligible for the following services:
- Meals on Wheels – home delivered breakfast, lunch, and weekend meals available at four senior centers county-wide
- Senior Safety Net Program – provides assistance and resources for walkers, wheelchairs, ramps, and emergency expenses when funds permit.
- Pet Meals – assists seniors in obtaining food for their pet
We had several residents interested in joining us; most of them could not take off work. We had two residents that came with us to help. We are so excited to go back and help in the spring.
